POINTING TO BAD SAND - We call this course sand that resembles sawdust "turkey-foot sand" because we first encountered it while sculpting a Thanksgiving turkey. It just won't hold together... and today's carving was FULL of it. That's one of the reasons we completely lost the pound up we were trying to create.
HAND STACK - When we lost the sand from the form we almost wanted to quit. The only alternative seemed to be to handstack. The problem? You can't go nearly as high as we wanted to with a handstack. Soooooo... we ended up with a stubby little fat finger pointing up.
